During the previous half term the head teachers and clergy from Barnet met together on zoom as a pilot, to look at ways of strengthening their relationships with each other. The meeting was focused on vision, Bishop Rob lead a reflection on John 10:10 which underpins both the National and LDBS vision for education. Emily Norman, from the Church of England Office for Education spoke about the Growing Faith Adventure and mutually beneficial relationships between church and school leaders. Bishop Rob and Kathryn Kane outlined the Diocese’s 2030 vision and examples of good practice that had been happening over the last year. Jayne Pavlou and Revd Julie Gittoes spoke about SIAMS, spiritual flourishing and a renewed imagination. Each of the speakers only spoke for a short time, allowing for lots of time in breakout rooms for headteachers and clergy to discuss and share ideas.
This pilot meeting was the beginning in developing local networks of schools and churches across the Diocese to continue to learn from and seek to serve and support each other and the children, young people and households we serve.
