Contract: Permanent/Full time – Required January/Easter 2021
St Mary’s & St John’s CE School has a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint a suitably qualified Assistant SENDCo to assist in managing the provision for pupils identified as having additional needs. The purpose of this role is to support the successful implementation and development of the school’s academic and pastoral programme as a member of the Inclusion team, through high quality teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, flexible, well organised and able to work as part of a team as well as have the ability to work alone when required.
We welcome applications from those with a passion for supporting students with additional needs who would like to train to become a SENDCo in the future. You will be responsible for managing a case load and projects, which will mean leading on provision for some students with additional needs. You need to be able to decipher and interpret data to make strategic decisions around support for those with additional needs, and be solution focused. Developing relationships with outside agencies, students and parents is essential so we can all work together as a team to secure the best outcomes for our students. We particularly welcome applications from those who teach maths and Science, but all application will be considered.
Despite the challenges we face, recruitment and hiring will continue at St Mary’s & St John’s CE School, with as little disruption as possible over the coming weeks and months. Guidance at the time will determine whether this is a face to face process or a virtual process for all posts. Applications will still be reviewed and interviews conducted in a timely manner.
Applications and supporting statements to be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org and can be downloaded from our website: www.smsj.london
Closing Date for applications: Friday 27th November 2020
