TMS on the Inner London Pay Scale
Required for January 2021
Could you be a teacher in Greig City Academy’s English Faculty? We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of English to join a successful and motivated department in our school. As part of this professional and dedicated team you will be instrumental in inspiring and motivating our students, connecting what they learn in English to their everyday lives. Our forward-thinking Faculty takes a collaborative and supportive approach to the development of its staff and you will play a key role in continuing to raise standards. This post is suitable for an NQT.
The English Faculty at Greig City Academy is creative, committed, collegial and very strong. We believe we work better for our students when we work as a team: if we share resources, support one another’s development, and contribute ideas to improve and inspire each other. We also strongly believe in the Academy’s desire to incorporate extra-curricular opportunities to forge relationships, expand the curriculum, and broaden opportunities for students to engage with English as a subject. There is much scope here to develop in such a way.
The school boasts a really positive and supportive relationship between managers and staff and between staff and pupils. Excellent support is in place for our NQTs and there are good opportunities for career progression.
Paul Sutton, our Principal, encourages teachers to have an impact beyond their subject and he is always available and happy to discuss ideas with you as to how this can be achieved. We have an impressive range of extra-curricular activities and all our staff are involved in running at least one. Ours is a caring and well-ordered environment in which all students can enjoy learning, develop enquiring minds and acquire the skills and knowledge they need for a changing world. Every day we see the results of our efforts in students who work responsibly and with consideration for others – they are the best ambassadors for the school.
The personal development of all our staff is highly valued at GCA and we offer the opportunity to apply for our Learning Award of up to £2,400 per year for your continued professional development or other skills and talents. This is in addition to the school’s ongoing CPD programme. Other benefits staff can opt into include a cycle to work scheme and an interest-free annual season ticket loan.
GCA has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and has safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. It is committed to the principle of equal opportunities; we welcome all applicants and value the diversity they bring.
Please download the application form via the school’s website and email your completed application to email@example.com.
The closing date for receiving completed application forms is 3pm on Monday 23rd November 2020.
Please note that we reserve the right to close or extend this position depending on application numbers, therefore we would urge candidates to submit an application at their earliest opportunity.
