Head Teacher

St Luke’s CoE Primary School – Islington
Required for September 2024

Salary range: L15 to L21 (£75,545 to £86,119 gross per annum)

St Luke’s CoE Primary School is seeking to recruit an ambitious and inspiring Head Teacher with the leadership skills to secure continuous improvement and success across the whole school and to build on the achievements of the current Head Teacher, who is retiring.

At present, St Luke’s is in a federation with a local community school. This was set up so that St Luke’s could support Moreland School, which it has successfully done. The new Head Teacher will have the exciting challenge of embracing new opportunities as St Luke’s determines its next chapter.

Conveniently situated in the heart of Islington, the school serves a vibrant, diverse community. It is financially successful, supported by the St Luke’s School Trust and through well-developed local business relationships.

What we offer:
• Happy children who love their school and their learning
• A happy, experienced and caring staff team who work well together
• A supportive, active and engaged governing board
• Consistently strong teaching and learning and opportunities for children outside the classroom
• An outward-facing school, well-known to be at the heart of the EC1 community

We are looking for:
• Substantial, successful leadership experience as a Head Teacher, Head of School or Deputy Head of School
• Knowledge of what makes an effective school and strategies that can be deployed for school improvement
• Evidence of a commitment to equality of opportunity and social inclusion
• Leadership skills including the ability to carry out strategic planning; involve and motivate others; demonstrate efficiency and the ability to multi-task; articulate a vision and direction for the school
• The ability to manage change, acknowledge difference and resolve conflict and uncertainty
• The ability to develop partnerships and networks, realising tangible benefits, including financial gains

St Luke’s is a Church of England school and a commitment to the distinctive ethos of an Anglican school is required in this post; membership of a Christian church is desirable.
