SEN Teaching Assistant with SMSA Duties ~ Required to start in September 2019
To assist a child with special needs
Specific Purpose Contract
Monday ~ Friday 8.30 a.m. – 3.15 p.m
Term time only (38 weeks) + up to 5 training days which you will be paid for additionally.

Scale 3 Point 5 for 31.25 hours per week £15687.29 pro rata (£21591 FTE)
This is a one year contract from September 2019 until 31st August 2020


The Governors seek to appoint a special, fit and active person to provide individual support to an engaging child who has special needs in Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will work on a one to one basis under the direction of the Class Teacher and SENCO.

The successful applicant must

  • Have attained the minimum of an NVQ2 CACHE Level 2 or equivalent;
  • Enthusiastically embrace the Christian values of our Church of England School;
  • Demonstrate complete confidentiality and absolute discretion;
  • Be fully cognisant with current Safeguarding Legislation with regard to keeping children safe in education;
  • Be motivated, flexible and hard working;
  • Be fit and active;
  • Embrace ICT and willingly widen skills in ever-developing technology; ability to use iPad;
  • Be caring and passionate about making a difference;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork;
  • Have effective communication skills;
  • Have a willingness to become involved in professional development and the ability to support children in their learning;
  • Have good basic skills in English and Mathematics (to be proven at interview);
  • Proven SEN support; experience is desirable;
  • First Aid at Work / Paediatric First Aid Qualification is desirable or a willingness to obtain;
  • Attend to the child’s personal hygiene;
  • Work with professionals from outside agencies;
